Can you believe we are nearly at the end of March already?! It seems crazy to be writing that but it’s true. And whilst there’s still plenty of time until the end of the year itself, it’s actually a really good point in time to check-in with yourself, and your goals.
It’s important to reflect on the goals you set at the beginning of the year to track your progress. How are you getting on with your goals? Have you made progress on some of them? Maybe there has been more progress made on those you didn’t expect or there are some where you have made no progress at all. Either way – this is a great time to evaluate where you are with your goals so you can act accordingly from here on out.
Whilst we’re almost at the end of the first quarter, I wanted to write a more personal blog post this week to focus on some of the new things I have been trying this year, with the hoping of inspiring you, and others, to experiment with new areas of your lives.

Style
One of the first areas I am looking to experiment more with this year is my own style, in the fashion sense. More often that not, we tend to stick with what we know and are reluctant to try new things.
Similarly to interior design, when it comes to my personal style with fashion pieces, I love to combine different textures in my outfits. Whether that’s a chunky knit jumper and satin skirt; I’m here for it. Combining different textures, whether that be in interior design or fashion, creates a more interesting and thoughtful look.
One of my favourite outfits at the moment involves faux leather leggings. Whilst normal leggings themselves are super comfortable and great for running-errand days or lounging at home, faux leather leggings not only add a different texture to any outfit, but they are also still as comfortable.
Faux leather leggings are relatively new to my wardrobe, but are quickly becoming a staple piece. They add interest to almost every outfit choice. Whether they are paired with chunky trainers and an oversized jumper for a casual day look, or paired with a bodysuit or crop top with heels for a killer evening look, they are an extremely versatile piece of clothing to have in your wardrobe!

Work Life
If you follow me on Instagram you may be more familiar with this area of my life in recent weeks. I have spent more time focusing on the content I create for social media, and Instagram has been one of those focuses.
This comes after a particularly difficult time for me personally; leaving extremely challenging environments for the better of my physical and mental health. You can read more about this in my previous post here.
Meanwhile, I have ventured into now offering online interior design services, branching out in the world of Virtual Assisting other interior designers and bloggers, and also more instagram influencing opportunities. These changes have been really liberating for me so far. I have been able to work on projects I am truly passionate about, and I sincerely hope that this can continue.

Hobbies
Since Christmas I have been making a particular effort to make more time for my hobbies. This includes reading and cross-stitching. I used to cross stitch when I was much younger but somehow life ended up getting in the way of being able to do more of it (doesn’t that sound familiar for lots of things?!) So now that I am focusing more on my health, part of my relaxation technique is to cross stitch, or read.
In fact, I have allocated more time to my hobbies so far this year that I have already finished two books!!! (This is completely unheard of for me unless I go on a two week beach-only holiday!)
While these hobbies may not be trying new things I am still incredibly proud of myself for making these positive changes in my life this year. I have already noticed a difference to my overall wellbeing and I hope this will continue to be the case.
