Similarly to myself, I am sure there have been a number of times where you have been faced big life decisions and perhaps it’s taken you a number of days (or even weeks in some cases) to come to a logical conclusion.

Living a healthy, successful, and prosperous life isn’t easy. Sometimes you can make what seems like all the right decisions, only to find later on in life that you’re still not where you want to be. You thought carefully about your future, made sensible decisions, and yet you have regrets. This is normal!

The good news, though, is that this doesn’t have to be your future. If you can make the right decisions today, you can prevent regrets tomorrow.

I have pulled together some tips to make your decision making process easier that you might want to try the next time you’re faced with a hard decision.

Going With Your Gut

A lot of the world’s most successful people work based on intuition, not reasoned argument. While there’s a place for thinking things through and going by the evidence, our conscious minds aren’t computers. They can’t perceive a situation from all angles. And they often don’t make the right decision.

The brain, however, has a secret weapon up its sleeve – that of parallel processing. The unconscious mind is like a giant supercomputer that takes on a massive amount of information and makes judgments. Tapping into that can be a helpful resource telling you whether you should do something or not.

Moving to a new town for a job might seem like the right decision, but if you have a bad feeling about it in your gut, you might want to give it a miss.

Ask for Spiritual Guidance

Going to a medium for guidance is something that a lot of people find helpful. You don’t actually have to interact with anyone to get the service. You can have a psychic reading over email if you would rather not speak on the phone. All you do is text a number with your problem and then wait for a response, telling you everything you need to know about the situation.

Whilst some people may be sceptical of mediums or spiritual guidance, over the last few years I have been harnessing this spiritual awareness and it has guided me to and from many situations that has inevitably helped me to make the right decision.

Learn from the Past

While mistakes are painful when they happen, they teach you a lot about life. It’s an important step in the decision making process.

Take your love life, for instance. A lot of people go into relationships, naive about how they will work out. They have this romantic idea in their heads that their partner will always be faithful to them, no matter what. The alternative is unthinkable. And yet, that’s not what happens in reality. Instead, human frailties come to the fore, and they experience the harsh reality of betrayal.

That sort of experience changes your approach to romance. You realise that it is a dangerous thing, both medically and psychologically. You incorporate what you learn from previous experiences and apply them in the new context. You give the new person the benefit of the doubt, but in the back of your mind, you hold something of yourself back.

Make it Fun!

Finally, it’s always a good idea not to take life too seriously. Things will always go wrong. It’s the way of the world. Just look at what is happening today with coronavirus. Very few people saw it coming… And now it’s here; it will probably change the course of history. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

I hope this decision making process has helped you re-think how you make decisions in the future… How do you make big life changing decisions? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
