1. The Four-Poster Bed
One of my absolute favourite Master Suite ideas right now revolves around the four-poster bed. Sophisticated, grand and a real statement in the room – the four poster bed (if you have room of course!) is one of the top ways you can make your bedroom stand out from the crowd.
There are a wide variety of four-poster beds on the market which feature different frame materials depending on your preferred style.

2. The Stylish Headboard
If the four-poster bed is a bit too far fetched for your room but still want to make the Master Suite really stand out, consider a stylish headboard instead.
This is an opportunity to be playful with your choice… It could be a bright and bold colour, statement pattern or print or perhaps it’s oversized from the bed width to encompass the bedside tables too.

3. Luxurious Flooring
The flooring to your Master Suite is something worth investing in. Not only does it transform the whole room to make it look and feel truly luxurious, you will be stepping foot on this every morning. If the budget doesn’t quite stretch to a luxurious carpet, you could opt for a thick pile rug instead.

4. The Minimal Approach
Quite a popular style among many new homeowners is the totally minimal approach. This not only looks fabulous, but also helps to keep the mind calm because of the lack of clutter!
Instead, make sure you have adequate storage space all hidden away…

5. Let the Walls do the Talking
Contrastingly to the idea before, adding bold wall paper or colours to the walls creates a really playful and daring environment.

6. Let There be Light
Yet another completely contrasting point! (But this does get you thinking about the possibilities for your Master Suite…)
All white everything.
Yes, I’m talking white walls, white bed linen, layering neutral coloured textures in the accessories… The pure, crisp and totally minimal interior.

7. The Boho Vibe
Next up is the Bohemian themed bedroom. Think patterned rugs and pillows, wicker furniture, and seagrass shades. What I call the quirky yet cultural take on a modern interior.

8. Feature Wall Panelling
I have seen this next idea shown across many projects recently. And that is the idea of using panelling to the main bedroom wall as also being part of the headboard. This doubling up creates a gorgeous design feature but is also extremely functional.
This is another area of the Master Suite where you can be quite creative in its execution… You may wish to consider these panels having insets of suede, faux leather or even wallpaper texture / pattern to add some interest to the feature wall.

9. Mid-Century Modern
If you’ve been following the blog or my Instagram account for a while, you will know that I have a thing for Mid-Century Modern inspired interiors… And there really is no surprising that this style has come up on this Top 10 list!
Try swapping the modern / contemporary furniture for something inspired by mid-century design instead. Think rich timbers and dusty hues and textures.

10. Country Living
And last but no least, the Country Inspired Master Suite… Known for its stunning farmhouse features (if you’re lucky enough to have them) and their serene colour palettes. Alternatively, you could take inspiration from the joinery / cabinetry features of a traditional farmhouse for your storage; simple yet elegant.
For your master suite, using natural inspired materials and colours will help to ensure your room is kept calm and tranquil for a good night’s sleep.
